Sharjah Institute for Heritage is a scientific and cultural institution under the Government of Sharjah dedicated to safeguarding, documenting, and promoting Emirati cultural heritage locally and internationally. The Institute works to enhance awareness of both tangible and intangible heritage through academic programs, research initiatives, cultural events, and community-based activities that help transfer heritage knowledge to younger generations and strengthen national identity. The Institute also organizes a range of international forums and heritage events that highlight traditional culture and support the preservation of cultural practices. In addition, it hosts a UNESCO Category II International Centre for Capacity Building in Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as several international organizations concerned with heritage preservation, reinforcing its role as a hub for cultural cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of heritage safeguarding.
