DSQC was launched in 2007 by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah inside the University City at Sharjah. It contains collectibles of H.H. Ruler of Sharjah which he gathered during 25 years.

It consists of various divisions such as: History of Arab Gulf via charts, life in the Gulf, the Centre’s library and the personal collectibles of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah. Categories of European and local sail ships which played a pioneer role in the history of sailing in the area are also included in DSQC.
